Overall it holds together very well, and even though I played the whole game in two days with minimal sleep, I didn't even think about taking a break for a while. [Issue#327]
In a generation where we get remakes one after the other, it's hard to think of a remake that really reinvented itself to the point where it felt almost completely new. No longer do we need to look at Resident Evil 4 as a nostalgic memory, it is here, freshly new and almost any complaint I have on it is just a nitpick. One of the best remakes Capcom - and anyone else for that matter - ever did.
Capcom created a remake of Resident Evil 4 that is more than up to the original, modifying and adding new elements to its playable formula, without losing the essence of the 2005 game.
A very conservative, but also very successful remake of a genre classic that every horror game lover should experience. If you once missed this milestone, you don't have to look back, the new version perfectly represents it and in a modern guise awakens the same feelings as the original once did.
Resident Evil 4 Remake successfully modernizes one of the most significant sequels in the series. As a completely new game based on the legendary release from 2005, it surpasses all previous Capcom remake efforts in terms of authenticity and preservation of the atmosphere of the original with just enough novelty to be completely fresh and fun even for the players who have double digits playthroughs of the OG Resident Evil 4.
Whether you’re a long time fan of the original Resident Evil 4, or hearing about it for the first time, this Resident Evil 4 remake is an absolute must play for all fans of horror games. The story throws twists, turns, and challenges at you with some occasional puzzles, making it engrossing and worth-while for every minute you play. The mechanics are easy and fun to preform as you fight your way to the end. The new and enhanced graphics really bring out how horrifyingly sinister the environments and monsters are; a welcomed improvement from the original, while still keeping the charm from the original game. This game will leave you playing for weeks as you complete the main and side story, along with the additional VR mode and minigame. Not only that, but the amount of extra challenges, achievements and bonus in-game content will have you playing the game over and over and over again, leaving you wanting more after every play though. Beautifly executed remake, if not the best I’ve played.
I never played the original Resident Evil 4 and thought I am in for some horror action. Sadly that was rarely the case.
That doesnt make Resident Evil 4 a bad game by any means, but after the other Resident evil games this one feels a bit out of place.
its still beautiful with a great story.
Fire it up and this is what gaming has come to remaking old games I have already played to death? No points for originality, but 11/10 for milking nostalgia and running out of ideas. I just thought meh playing this, DNF.
