    While the game still is pretty fantastic, it just does not hold my attention the way it originally did. That’s not saying the game is bad, not in the least. I just played it a ton seven years ago and the remastered version just served me as a reminder of how much fun I had playing the game. Even if it is now outdated.

    A good remaster by Capcom, with enjoyable graphics and new modes and contents. If you never played the game or want to relive Chris and Sheva's adventures (including all DLCs), it won't disappoint you.

    Alone or with a co-op partner, it’s hard to go wrong with Resident Evil 5. It is perfect for franchise fans or those looking to get into the series ahead of Resident Evil 7 and the Resident Evil 2 remake. At the time of writing, it’s a perfect time to delve in as well — this, and other Resident Evil games, are heavily discounted. Just avoid RE6 unless you know what you’re in for.

    Unfortunately, it has limited appeal and with Resident Evil 4 coming soon, it’s hard to justifying purchasing this one again.

    The work done with this remastered version of Resident Evil 5 is just a little more than enough. We recommend the game only to those who couldn't play it in the past generation and who are looking for a good action game, despite some obsolete mechanics, with an interesting game coop.

    This remastered version of Resident Evil 5 has not changed even a bit. The graphics are still the same as in the original game, released seven years ago. This “remaster” is for players who have not tried the original.

You hinestly can even notice anything, the game feels smoth as as silk especially besides all the horrid 30 fps games this gen.. Digital Foundry are a joke. They cap for and gush over caped 30 but complain about minor drop in a god hitting 60 fps.. 40 to 60 frames is better than cappef always styttery 30, thet just want studio to cap performace so they can use the ectra power making Pc games pretier.. Everyoy studio that has taken DF advice this gen has ended up with a worse product. DF dont make games, they dont even have degrees or can ebencode they are just PC gamers.… Expand

Depends on what you were expecting. Horror? Maybe a little, but it's mostly an action game with great co-op and an arcade-y feel to it.

    The story is OK, the graphics are OK and the Gameplay is fun. I can't tell you how many times I have beaten this game from the beginning and unlocked everything. Even on professional mode the game is a fun time WITH A HUMAN PLAYER. The Ally A.I. is pretty darn awful on harder difficulties.

    Anyway, if you want a really FUN, somewhat short, addicting CO-OP game then I can't think of any better game other than Mario games of course. ;)    … Expand

    Graphics are better on XBOX than PS4 and PC, It has aged but still it has a nice gameplay - 8/10

I can say with confidence some of the criticism this game gets is not fair, but not saying there isn’t any to be made. This game could really use a crosshair with how bright the sky is in some levels (yeah I know the pc port has one, but it’s not great). One more thing this game could use is a better knife. Yes there’s a stun rod later in the game, but it feels like you’re stabbing the enemies with a butter knife, if you don’t have it. Other than those things, a fairly good adaptation to the classic Resident Evil series.… Expand

    Resident Evil 5 was the second in a trilogy of cheesy Resident Evil games that were filled with shallow action and awful storytelling, andResident Evil 5 was the second in a trilogy of cheesy Resident Evil games that were filled with shallow action and awful storytelling, and this, in my opinion, is the worst of the three. It is everything bad about Resident Evil 4, but with none of the charm that made Resident Evil 4 bearable. It's not bad in a way that makes it charming (like its predecessor), it's just plain bad and is a chore to play. There is only one thing that can slightly redeem it, and that is if you have a friend to play it with.

    The story is dull and uninspiring, the villains are boringly cartoonish, and there is next to no atmosphere. the setting and core concept could have been a great starting point for an immersive survival-horror game, unfortunately Capcom had abandoned this idea, and wouldn't return to it again until the masterpiece that is Resident Evil 7. It is also very hard to feel immersed and tense when the loneliness of the prior games is gone. Co-op can be fun, but it was at the expense of the loneliness that made the earlier (and more recent) games feel so eerie.

    The gameplay is a little fun though, since it's the same as Resident Evil 4, but it just didn't feel as smooth or as enjoyable to play. The graphics, however, look very good on Xbox One. Perhaps this game will one day get a single-player re-imagining. It is said that the original ideas for this game were very focused on horror, suspense and atmosphere, but the team were pressured into making a co-op action game. Only time will tell if they revisit this chapter, and go with their original ideas, and make it a genuine survival horror masterpiece.    … Expand
