    An highly imaginative and varied first person adventure, with vivid and rich worlds and brilliant puzzles, only dragged down by some technical issues and a couple of bad design choices.

    The story is unique but it can be difficult to follow at first as you will become confused by the unusual cutscenes that play at the end of each level. If you persevere with the game, though, it is a rewarding experience that will offer you plenty of content.

    I have to say that the music is the best part of this entire game, though that isn't saying much. With so many sources of inspiration that would have set this game up for tremendous success, you can't help but feel that this was an opportunity that sadly missed the mark.

    An innovative concept can be found behind Soul Axiom, but various missteps in its delivery hold back its potential. With frustrating puzzles and bland level design, it feels the developer's approach to the game has been misguided, limiting what could've been a detailed and engaging storytelling experience.

    With more polish and time, Soul Axiom could have turned out to be an amazing experience. There was potential in its narrative and puzzles that was wasted by poor presentation and level design. Soul Axiom had decent individual parts that never quite coalesced into a satisfying whole.

    The gameplay gets more tiresome and unimaginative as you play, ultimately becoming a never-ending slog. Things do take a small turn for the better near the end, but if I wasn't reviewing this game I would have given up long before then.
