    Sword of the Necromancer is a roguelike RPG that is largely experimental, and when all the little parts come together, it’s an experience which manages to standout from so many other procedurally generated indie games on the market.

    Sword of the Necromancer doesn't offer too original and memorable art, but it manages to surprise thanks to a very clever game design and an emotional story. A rogue-lite game to try.

    On top of a really dramatic and passionate story with excellent voice acting (Tama's voice actress absolutely nailed it) and some really cool bosses, you have a pretty sweet game that I recommend you check out if you dig dungeon crawler roguelikes and at the same time want something different.

If you are familiar with classic and new Rogue-like games which is a very good thing. You will find something similar in this game, because the developers took some inspiration from some of these games. Turn your foes into allies using the forbidden powers of the Sword of the Necromancer and help Tama reach the dungeon’s depths in order to gain enough power to bring Koko back from the dead. Gather a little army of monsters, equip yourself with weapons and relics and level up to take on the guardians that stand between you and your objective. Sword of the Necromancer is inspired by Rogue-like games like Enter the Gungeon, 2D Zelda games like A Link to the Past and monster-catching mechanics like those from Azure Dreams. The aim is to create a fluid battle system, with head-to-head combat as its main focus while leaning on monster summons for special actions and attacks. I think this is the priority question to ask. What would you do to bring back someone you love? Did I mention I’m a huge Zelda fan and I truly enjoyed Exit The Gungeon? This is a great addition to the Xbox library and near and dear to my classic favorites. If you too enjoy this type of genre, then you must buy it now.
