Feb 28, 2021Taxi Chaos feels almost shameless in cloning Crazy Taxi's idea and it's lost some of the game's attitude (mainly due to a forgettable soundtrack) in the process, but it ultimately delivers an entertaining experience and a gameplay formula we've missed for a long time, with some nice additions like the city's verticality and the passengers side stories.

Feb 26, 2021Taxi Chaos is a fun, flawed game that takes a lot of inspiration from Crazy Taxi, but does genuinely improve upon the formula in impressive ways. Freeroam allows players to learn the city to do a better job in the arcade and GPS-less modes, while having NPC fetch quests keeps things fresh and further rewards exploration. The available car selection is hit or miss, but most of the vehicles are fun to use and allow you to have a blast while darting around NYC. The soundtrack and voice work need work, and with post-launch updates planned, we’ll see how all of the issues related to the audio work out in due time. Taxi Chaos needs more polish, but still offers a lot of fun and it’s a must-play for anyone looking for a more modern-feeling version of Crazy Taxi.

Feb 23, 2021Taxi Chaos is a pretty faithful and enjoyable recreation of a fondly remembered gaming franchise, but its new ideas introduce lots of new problems.
-
Apr 7, 2021Taxi Chaos since its announcement represented the hope of returning to life the emotions experienced in the 2000’s with Crazy Taxi. Once tested, however, it has become clear that Team6 Game Studios has chosen a completely different path.
-
Feb 23, 2021As much of an ode Taxi Chaos is to Crazy Taxi, the experience feels incredibly lightweight and unfulfilling thanks to understocked options as well as the quickly tiresome nature of it all. More vehicles and characters are needed to spruce up the gameplay, as well as new locations and passengers who don’t repeat the same few lines over, and over, and over again. All told Taxi Chaos has the ingredients to be a really cool Crazy-Taxi-aping jaunt, but unfortunately this one is worth little more than a squirt of ketchup and mustard in both eyes from one of New Yellow City’s hotdog vendors.
-
Feb 25, 2021And in the case of Xbox specifically, it's really hard to find a reason why you'd pay that kind of money when Crazy Taxi is backwards compatible on the platform, and can be picked up for significantly less. That's not to take away from the work that's been put into Taxi Chaos, because it's a competent enough take on the formula, but SEGA's 1999 original has more content, more attitude and a better soundtrack, so it's hard to recommend this one.
-
Mar 1, 2021Taxi Chaos is fine in short bursts if you want to chase high scores, but for $30 to $35 depending on your platform, there just isn't enough content here to recommend this. Especially considering you can still buy Crazy Taxi on Xbox Live for a third of the price.

Feb 26, 2021I liked it. Nothing too complicated about it, and it's just a fun racing game if you think about it.
