    The core experience in Tetris Ultimate is fondly familiar and as enjoyable as it was thirty years ago. As a product created to honor its legacy, however, it is lifeless and bland.

    When playing alone or in offline multiplayer mode, Tetris Ultimate nails most of the basics. Unfortunately, it doesn't go far beyond them.

    You could ask for a version more to your liking, but Ultimate seems mostly focused on getting to these new consoles before any other subtitle.

    If your looking for a classic Tetris game, with a few new twists for your Xbox One this game is worth picking up. As it is only $9.99.

    It has a classic Tetris mode, and some others for fun. My biggest complaint about the game is it doesn't have the "classic" Tetris music. I mean it's there but it's a tech version. If they did a patch with the classic music, I would probably rate this game an 8, with the qualifier that you need to be a Tetris fan. The game somehow loses it's old school addiction factor without the classic music.

    It has multiplayer co-op offline, online. And you can play against other players either locally or online. So it's a great neutral party game for young and old alike to share in.    … Expand
