    The artwork, soundtrack, and experience it delivers are outstanding, but one of the very best things is the price. If you want to take a chance with something a bit different, you can’t go wrong in taking a gamble with The Mooseman.

    Inspired by Perm culture, The Mooseman offers a stunning journey that’s well paced, gorgeously designed and thoroughly engaging. For its cheap cost, the game does a good job as far as its gameplay diversity is concerned. It would have been nice to see some more effort spared for its localisation, and although it’s short, it uses its runtime well to relay a decent blend of platforming and puzzle elements throughout.

    The Mooseman is a game that feels like it accomplishes what it sets out to do, for the most part. The ancient myths of the Finno-Ugric tribes are complemented well by the uncommon visual style. The story that is told over the course of the adventure is fascinating, and the art can range from striking to subdued depending on what the scene calls for. Where The Mooseman falls short is in the areas that are supposed to keep the audience engaged in between the lore-heavy segments.

    The Mooseman offers us a fascinating setting with an interesting art style, but its slow gameplay made of trial and error sections and scattered with too many texts to read make it a not so engaging experience. If you're interested in ancient folklore and would like to explore finno-ugric myths, it could still be a worthwhile buy.

    I was very excited to learn that The Mooseman was making its way to the Xbox One. Thankfully it was worth the wait and after only a fewI was very excited to learn that The Mooseman was making its way to the Xbox One. Thankfully it was worth the wait and after only a few minutes I now realise why my friend recommended the game to me so much. Without a doubt the best thing about this game is its story and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was one the most thought-provoking story’s I’ve ever experienced. From the moment you start the game the story hooks you and it keeps you hooked throughout your time with the game and the best thing is that it stirs up a number of different emotions along the way as well. The story was that good then that I didn’t want it to end and unfortunately in terms of length the game doesn’t have a huge amount to offer you and once completed you’re highly unlikely to return back to the game, which is a shame. Thankfully though the content that’s here is very good and I did enjoy the gameplay that was available to me. Whilst I can see the slow-paced gameplay not being for everybody it actually ticked a lot of boxes for me. The main reason why I enjoyed the slowness and minamilist approach when it came to the gameplay is because it allowed me to breath and take in every little detail and that’s maybe why I thought about the game long after completion. Despite the simplistic approach it still would’ve been nice to have seen a little bit of a challenge implemented into the game though, but this is only a small gripe and in the end I was more than happy with what the gameplay delivered to me. I especially enjoyed the puzzles in the game even if some of them were a little bit simplistic. Despite the simplicity of some of the puzzles I was very impressed with how they tied in with the game’s story and they did a great job of breaking up the usual gameplay. Without a doubt one of my favourite things about the game was its presentation and thankfully the game holds up really well on the technichal side of things. Visually the game has a lovely and mysterious look to it and when you combine these visuals with the excellent sound design the game creates an atmosphere like no other, which is awesome. At the end of the day game’s like The Mooseman make me realise why I love indie game’s so much. This game offers you an experience that you won’t forget anytime soon and whilst it’s a little on the short side you still get good value for your money which in turn means this game gets a very big recommendation from me.… Expand
