An action adventure with unique visual and comfortable controls mixed with 3D and 2D. It is a game hard not to mention the resemblance with Nintendo's masterpiece 'Pikmin' series. Although the game has built an attractive gameplay using Tinykin, It is a bit of shame that there is no combat content that utilize it, lacking the entire tension.
An absolutely incredible experience. I've been wanting a true 3D platforming sandbox experience for a long time. And I luckily experienced that with Cavern of Dreams (an also fantastic platforming adventure) but I was absolutely enamoured with Tinykin. The theming of the game, the characters and story, the mechanics. All of it is fantastic.
I've never been one to be interested in the Pikmin franchise, and I know this game takes a lot of inspiration from those games, but there is something about this game, that combining the Pikmin concept to a 3D platformer that feels unique but still a very good homage to the genre as well.
I found myself wanting to complete the optional objectives without any pushing from the game because I was having so much fun with how free it lets you be. You can complete levels and challenges without being told or assigned them. If you found something interesting you could bring it with you, and complete a challenge through exploration alone. And in a sandbox platformer, that to me is the most important thing. The game's story isn't the thing pushing you to do the optional objectives. Its the feeling of fun that makes you WANT to do them, regardless of the reward in game.
The time trials are fun, but very hard. I did 5 of them, but couldn't manage to complete the rest without sinking time into making sure I had perfect movement for each of them. I can definitely see them feeling rewarding if I had more free time to sink into them.
There's something calm about the way its built, and I've seen people say that there needed to be enemies in the game, but I disagree. If there were, or there were ways to lose your tinykin, you'd either be playing a different game in terms of mood/style or you'd have to constantly be backtracking to pick up tinykin again, which would only serve as a "No fun allowed" style mechanic, when the game is more focused on exploration or the platforming challenges. I think anyone expecting a pikmin game might be slightly disappointed, as this only takes one aspect of those games, and applies it to a different genre altogether.
A great game with tons of fun and puzzle solving. The game had no noticeable bugs and was engaging the entire way. Loved the 2D characters in a 3D environment. Gameplay and graphics were both amazing. Must play.
At first glance, Tinykin might appear overwhelming with its various tinykin mechanics and the collectibles to find, but somehow, the game keeps you moving at a steady but still entertaining pace. At its bare minimum, you will still get at least six hours of fun trying to get Milo home. However, decide to go full completionist, and you can add a couple of hours to the total playtime and more satisfaction from solving tougher puzzles. And while it may not necessarily have that strategic component of Pikmin, Tinykin makes the most of its take on the genre while adding its own adorable mascots for one of the best 3D platformers in recent years, especially on Game Pass.
A combination of a streamlined length that doesn’t overstay its welcome, terrific level design, fluid controls and an overall aesthetic that’s both charming and well-integrated, Tinykin is a joy to play and an easy recommendation for any fan of 3D platformers.
Tinykin delivers a fun-sized chunk of satisfying 3D-platforming joy for all ages. Its charming cartoonish visuals and delightful cast of insectoids are bursting with personality and whimsy. While it doesn’t provide much of a platforming challenge and drags its feet a bit through some repetitive escort missions, it’s impossible not to smile at this joyous mini-world of anxious dung beetles and partying silverfish. A relaxing, cozy little adventure that will entertain the young-at-heart.
Szegény ember Pikmin-je, de ez ettőlfüggetlenül nem egy rossz jelző. Nagyon tudom ajánlani bárkinek, családosoknak is. Nagyon kellemes kikapcsolódást nyújt.
