It's a fun game, but like I said before, don't go in expecting a boxing sim. I would put this more in the same vein as Ready to Rumble except without all the ridiculous moves and boxers of Ready to Rumble.
-
A game that does its license proud. It's the most complete boxing game to come out recently.
-
To our delight, Rage has done a wonderful job of putting the movie into game form, and at the same time has made a game that is actually good.
-
The main mode of the game that allows you to relive the past five Rocky films is disappointingly short, especially when you factor in the cheap-shot facet of the gameplay mechanics.
-
Xbox Nation MagazineRage has perfectly captured the flavor of the boxing in the Rocky films, and by this we mean there is no pugilism to be found. [Winter 2002, p.107]
-
Game InformerAn adequate boxing title for fans of the franchise. [Dec 2002, p.144]
-
Completely spoiled by a few major problems, the worst of which makes it possible to get by opponents using only one button.
