They have done an amazing job of re-creating the intense thrill of being out in the ocean in large surf. I know from experience. The very first time I started a session with the game I got butterflies in my stomach.
The gameplay is solid, despite the Pro Tour mode's complete lack of originality.
Yes, I was surprised that the Xbox had this as a launch game, but after experiencing its easy controls and beautiful graphics, my opinion was changed.
The action is as close as it can get to the real thing.
It manages to float where others have sunk and breaks the trend of garbage surfing games by offering decent if somewhat limited fun.
