Frankly, 2 Hearts is the drama this year deserves. One that starts with promise before descending into madness.
For those who can push past the sentimental manipulation in these two fact-based love stories there’s an advocacy for selfless generosity that resonates in this pandemic era.
It’s wholesome but starchy fare: a story of sacrifice and good fortune that feels less like a movie than a marketing vehicle for the power of divine providence.
This is the sort of film for which the term "tearjerker" was invented, but this one jerks them so violently you may need medical attention afterwards.
It’s a softheaded piece of morbid romantic treacle — two parallel cloying love stories for the price of one.
There’s a great film to be made about organ donation — the miraculous, often mysterious link between donor and recipient and how that decision touches lives. But 2 Hearts doesn’t come close to finding the pulse required to be that movie.
