Crystal & De Niro return to reprise their roles of psychiatrist & mob boss. Has one of the rare things of being better than the original. Much more laughs & the scenes with Paul Vitti in his new jobs are brilliant.

Not as expected sequel but still amazing, i was hoping at least to see it as same level of "Analyze This" but unfortunately it was less. If you love "Analyze this", I think you will love this one also.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I had seen the original movie, although it was quite a long time ago now but I don't feel that you have to have seen the original movie to understand this one, as its got a very simple premise. Its quite slapstick in a sense, in terms of the comedy, indeed it is quite amusing watching De Niros behaviour with his character showing a rather vulnerable side to himself as he talks to Ben (which we saw in the original movie). Its quite corny as it features scenes with Paul opening up to Ben and then realising whats going on and laughing it off, that sort of thing. Other funny parts of the movie include when Paul tries his hand at many different jobs, most quite unsuccessfully - his customers being quite appaulled by his actions at some points (you can imagine). The other funny part involves Paul reluctantly helping out a friend of Bens who works on a TV show which is about a mobster/gangster, called Little Caeser. The humour is quite basic but still quite amusing at points. Its pretty much a continuation of the first movie and both Billy Crystal and Robert DeNiro play their roles quite well, both of them being quite quirky, infact you could say that it has a bit of a comic book feel to it, in terms of the way these two characters behave. There's not a whole lot to this movie, if you know what I mean but its still quite entertaining and I quite enjoyed watching it. I know that sequels are often seen as being not as good as the original movie and indeed their often thought of as being quite a big let down but I wouldn't call this movie a let down really. I haven't seen the original movie in a while but from what I remember and what I saw when I watched it, this is pretty much a a continuation from the first film. To me, its not unfunny and yet its not 10x better than the first movie, its pretty much (as you'd expect) more of the same with some pretty decent laughs there, so I would say that if you enjoyed the first movie then give this a shot.
