I have to agree with the other review here in that the movie just doesn't "sell" the characters or reactions well at all. I think the acting though is probably not as bad as the writing. There's a part where people are freaking out, calling a TV broken, worried about it's ability to turn back on. Why? Is it an old faulty TV? does it have a sticker that says "keep on"? No. It's just supposed to be understood that nobody would ever turn this TV off.

This kind of thing continues to happen throughout the movie and while I am not usually a harsh critic, it's like the person who wrote this hasn't ever interacted with anyone but insane racists.… Expand

Really interesting concept and some disturbing images. Unfortunately ruined by the director getting on a soapbox and preaching about everything the left loves to complain about, racism, Christianity, masculinity, patriotism. This movie barely deserves a 2 simply because it could have been great. The setting is amazing but the writing is god awful, really couldn't be much worse than it was. Like many of the Black Mirror / Twilight Zone scenario movies as of late, the writers really have no idea how the come up with an ending. Just like in The Platform, another movie that botches it, the ending is just vaguely mystical and we have to settle for never knowing. Highly unsatisfying.

It’s an interesting idea at the get go, but with characters that are impossible to connect with, you don’t find yourself caring what direction the movie heads in. Not to mention, when the monsters are finally revealed in the end, there is truly nothing special about them. They are not terrifying in the slightest, and the special effects are the cheesiest I’ve seen in a while. If anything, by the time you get to the end of the movie, it is more laughable than scary.… Expand

This was so awful, I don't even know where to begin! I had to turn this movie off after 40 painful minutes, but I actually lost all interest at 30 mins when the entire cast injected themselves with the mystery vaccine that fell down the chimney! Horrible plot. Horrible acting. HorribleThis was so awful, I don't even know where to begin! I thought this movie was quite awful. The cast does a poor job "acting" and doesn't really sell the predicament the characters are in. I mean it's obvious the film is about how technology controls our lives and how little we question things we see on the internet, That is obvious. But it's too obvious and almost way too in your face.… Expand
