Natalia Leite, here making her feature directorial debut, does have a knack for capturing a sense of place. Both the Nevada landscapes and a supermarket where Sarah works early on have a pleasing clarity and recognizable feeling of malaise. The environment says more than the characters ever do. While Dianna and Paz De La Huerta's performances where beautiful, the plot just could not keep a consistency. The cinematography was glorious. It was just the plot of the movie that could not make all these beautiful things flow and tie together to create a wonderful masterpiece.
