Did I enjoy this movie? Heck yes I did. Liked the buildup of tension till they found Blackman. Liked the sultry Julia Stiles. Hopkins is one of the all time greats. Nothing like a good revenge movie.

Set in a logging community, this movie captures that place perfectly. Although the storyline has been done before, it is doubtful that it has been done better or with a better cast. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. i stopped the movie before the final showdown..i scanned through it tho and it looked boring. this film is ok, i like the dark grey rainyness of the film. they portray this town as being full of stupid poor hicks. Why would the guy give his boss a knife and then just sit back and watch the fight? the kid was good at acting with a speech impediment and hopkins was good at acting badass while also smart as always.They almost made the badguys seem too bad forcing the audience( assuming they arnt money grabbing piece of s hicks) to want them to all die. its hard to imagine i would ever be bored enough to watch it again. but maybe ill finish it someday. julia styles is given the most annoying lines possible and shes so boring (as always) that shes the perfect balance between the genius and retard in her crew. if this film accomplished anything its showing people that cops can be crooked and drug addicts can be pieces of crap. I would have given this a 2 instead of a one if it could have been a dog that was killed.… Expand

I have no idea how this movie got made. What as Anthony Hopkins thinking? Hammy recollection bit my Hal Holbrook pretty much set the tone. I can't give myself credit for watching the whole thing - I bailed after 60 min. Getting that far took patience...
