It would be nice to say that Blast From the Past is, but it ain't exactly. Half-blast is more like it.
Spacek and Walken are pure comic energy.

A good, funny, slightly naive comedy. I can't even imagine who would be cast as Brendan Fraser if not Brendan Fraser himself. Only he could play such a brutal big handsome guy with childish habits!Christopher Walken as a caring father, a husband who is always on guard for his family (and it doesn’t matter that he’s been underground for 35 years, but it’s safe) and loved ones. Honestly, when I saw the first frames of the film and Christopher Walken, I thought it was a thriller, in which Walken would play a maniac who locked his family in a bunker and would never let anyone out, I honestly didn’t expect such a good turn of events, and it was a little unusual to see him in such a **** general, there is a good idea in the film: first, the parents raised a good son, invested in him, taught him the classical treatment of women (how all this is missing now!), and then he made the parents so happy by ensuring their old **** course, the plot is fabulous, but this film can be watched again and again, it makes sense.

As pleasantly plastic as its retro-chic sets.
Most fun when it's locked up with daddy.
Demands that we see as coincidental if not ironic the ease with which Fraser cuts a rug at a swing club when he's hopelessly naive about everything else that's being revived in the 90s when he emerges.
This bizarre hybrid of romantic comedy cliches and less-than-subtle social commentary defeats their best efforts to make it sparkle.
The first 20 minutes of Blast From The Past, in which the film actually does something with its central concept, aren't that bad.

I only watched this movie because I have a major crush on Alicia Silverstone. Turned out to be a awesome movie and one of my favorites of all time.
