A delicate film - not flimsy, but fragile - that holds together on the strength of Efron's physical presence and performance.
The surprises really do surprise but often because they're remarkably stupid and poorly explained.

This film is very good, I like the story, good acting Zac Efron and Amanda Crew. I recominedo for those who want to see something especially romantic love.

This was an amazing movie! The acting had depth, and the audience was able to easily connect with all characters. If you are stuck in lifes' little moments or are looking for a more purposeful direction, one should really consider viewing this movie.

One thing that defies debate: Zac Efron is going places as an actor of value. But he deserves better movies than Charlie St. Cloud.
This ode to "moving on" from grief packs so little genuine emotion that it will touch only the most susceptible of viewers.
Charlie St. Cloud, like its star Zac Efron, is a gorgeous, unblemished thing. Both would be much improved with a tiny flaw or two.
The scenes in which Charlie plays catch with the ghost of his Red Sox-happy brother are only the most mawkish in a movie whose every element is calculated to set a 12-year-old girl's heart thumping.
You are not, in a movie like this, supposed to think too much; you are supposed to be transported beyond skepticism on a wave of pure, tacky feeling. Instead, in this case, you drown in sentimental, ghoulish nonsense.
Pretty good movie. Kind of like the sixth sense. In this case though he can see them in spirit when they are close to death. Uses it to help people.

[SPOILER!] - So the brother dies sitting in the passenger seat and Charlie (Zac Efron) makes it out alive without a single scratch, cut or broken/fractured bone? Not very convincing. Touching movie - it's really hard to depict the emotional struggles and pain of a teenager dealing with the death of a loved one; especially close sibling in this case. Zac Efron did a great job communicating to the audience the pain behind that.
The ending also didn't really work - I'm glad the two did end up getting together in the end, but everything that brought them to that point was just really confusing, with Efron talking to dead people and then almost dead people and then alive people. The spark and love between the two were well acted-out, however. This movie just didn't bring it all the way back home.

Charlie St. Cloud is not a good film in any sense of the word. A compelling premise is ruined thoroughly from beginning to end with the film's insistence on being a teenage rom-com fantasy film. The acting is lackadaisical to say the least and the little brother is annoying and needs to go away to make this film better. Aside from the truly far fetched and overly sappy direction taken by the film, the initial premise and overall message is good: do not mourn forever because life will pass you by, the person you are mourning will want you to move on. Decent message, but instead it is drowned out by gratuitous shots of Zac Efron's abs and teenage rom-com tropes. Overall, Charlie St. Cloud is a bad movie.
