Like most horror sequels, this one has its problems. Omen II feels more straight up slasher than the original which had a moody, slow build, however if you dig deeper it has a lot of political commentary on abuse of power and classism. This time around it centers around an older Damien in a military school. After being adopted following the events of the first film. He's attending with his cousin and you begin to get a sense of what horrors he's capable of. The story works from a more psychological standpoint and even shows him struggling with the things he has to do. But don't worry the insane death sequences. The one involving crows is particularly effective and disturbing. Although a solid sequel the original is still superior in its sheer effectiveness, that being said this is an entertaining and creepy venture that manages to avoid the trappings of sequilitius and stands quite well on its own.

Damien: Omen II is old school satanic fun with no substance at all. I wish I were Damien
