Fireworks takes you on that little journey. It may affect you deeply, or it may just come and go, a fizzling sentimental aside in an otherwise hectic day. But it’s hard to deny that it approaches its fantastical story with maturity and grace, and a thoughtfulness about what it would truly mean to leap into a “what if” and seriously consider never coming out again.

There are more engaging fireworks, or at least small sparks, when the film begins to dig into the feelings, friendships and jealousies of its two main protagonists.

I actually dont know why this Anime has so bad raitings. I will just akip the story and say my opinion. I think that it is an fantastic anime it has great Animations, music and story. Yea, i sayed it has a great story i wont explain the story but yall should pay more antention and watch it a few time because it hase a really wierd and hard understanding story and this is what i like about this anime the story is really hard to understand proparly. Its hard to understand i know but just give this anime a try and try to understand it. In my opinion its a really good Anime the story is just really good the music is really good the characters are good not fantastic but they are good and overall its just an amazing anime that yall should give it a try.

Does´nt have all the skills for make it memorable, as a SG production. The premise of "butterfly effect" worked better for someone else, but the characters have some kind of charming, particullarly a heart-ache finale and an unsolved question as conclusion. Your choice.

Despite its novel plot, and some lovely music and incidental artwork—the title fireworks, the rugged seaside and that glittery magic ball are all beautifully rendered—the film quickly drags.

For all its temporal twists and lyrical, sometimes remarkably photorealistic backdrops, Shinbo’s movie has none of “Your Name’s” narrative intricacy or stunning visual richness, much less its radical cross-gender empathy. These Fireworks look depressingly flat from any angle.

An interesting story that feels unable to start up and fails to be enjoyable. Although the animation work is very good that does not exempt it at all of its poor narrative.

The colors and scenery of this movie are beautiful and the idea of the plot is fine, but I found it boring, repetitive, and I did not empathize with the characters at all.

Fireworks is an unfortunate let down of a movie. I'm surprised this anime even got a US release. It's just so strange, and the characters are completely forgettable. It's a half-hearted attempt at a love story with some time travel BS that never goes anywhere. It's also an argument about the nature of fireworks that never goes anywhere. The one saving grace of this movie is that the animation is pretty to look at.
