It thought it was a solid, worthy adaptation of the classic. Mel Gibson is interesting as Hamlet. Franco Zeffirelli could have done a better job as the director and the screenplay could use some refinement. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I really liked it and then Glen Close thinks it makes sense to lip lock Hamlet because that is the what she thought her character, as his mother, would do. It actually ruined the movie for me. Expand

One of the worst movie I have ever seen, only finish it because it was a school assignment

PS: The face of the king in the play scene is the best of the movie

Mel Gibson has a fascinating attempt to convey the atmosphere of Hamlet but doesn't quite make land a lot of the lines to convey the story.
