Utterly necessary film.
In disturbing detail, we see these aimless kids, who often appear to be 10 years old - or younger! - as they beg for money and food, sniff glue, sleep under bridges in cardboard boxes and fight off predators.
The blithe cruelties of outdoor living mount up, but the filmmakers refuse to exaggerate or sensationalize their material.
A little commentary would have helped put the tragedy of the Hillbrow Kids into sharper perspective.
