There’s an admirable sense of pluck to the film, as if those involved know very well they’re making something that doesn’t need to exist but they’re making the most of it anyway.
Kemper, I have to say, just brings it. Sure, there were stunt doubles on board, but the pratfalls, the fury of a woman wronged, the lie-on-the-fly cunning — this is a You-Don’t-Mess-With-Momma we can get behind.

A fun Holiday movie that knows what it is and leans hard into it!
Yes, they rehashed the same basic plot, but they added a few story twists that gave this move a bit more heart. To me, you watch this movie while gearing up to watch classic Holiday movies like the Santa Clause, The Grinch & Elf. It'll get you into the Holiday spirit. It is well cast and well done.
Is it going to win awards, NO, is it an amazing movie, that is going to change the landscape of cinema, NO. But if that is what you are wanting, you're probably not watching a "Home Alone" movie. Take it for what it is and enjoy the ride it takes you on!

An argument can be made for not parsing the social messaging of films like this one too deeply, as the creative team probably didn’t. But Home Sweet Home Alone does merit such criticism, if only because there’s really not much else going on.
While it’s probably got some of the best production value since the last theatrically-released entry in the series (1997’s Home Alone 3), and is replete with a cast of genuinely funny actors, there’s something rotten at the core of Home Sweet Home Alone that makes it harder to swallow than a pool ball to the kisser.
Home Sweet Home Alone is an unnecessary sequel that fails to revive the franchise, lacking the fun, charm, and magic of the 1990 Christmas classic.
Home Sweet Home Alone doesn’t bear any aesthetic beyond “existing.” It is obligatory when it needn’t be. It will undoubtedly get a sequel.
Who’s the real victim here? The audience — yet Kemper’s no-nonsense pixie who suffers a dozen thumbtacks to the face runs a close second.
Not too shabby, definitely better than the last three. I think some of the callbacks were pretty forced though.

Ok film, definitely not classic quality like Home Alone and Home Alone Lost in New York.
The kid is rather annoying, and apparently you can use your outdoor water in winter (I assume this was filmed on a set???) but I did enjoy the revamped classic "mafia film" from the first two films, and the overall motivations and friendship with the (ex-)criminals was great.
I don't think I would re-watch this film again though, as it is not timeless like the first two.

You know what, It's not bad? Not as good as 1 and 2, nothing beats those 2 but it's mediocre at best. There are some cringe "Modern" terms but there are kinda few and far between. Many callbacks to the first movies with the house being protected by McCallister Home Protection and a police officer supposed to be Kevin McCallisters older brother as mentioned by the dialogue. Good to watch if you're bored of the older better Home Alone movies but its very mediocre movie overall.
