Honey has enough charm, good humor, and wry gut laughs to smooth over the dull patches and flaws in logic.
If the new film doesn't exude quite as much fairy-tale magic as the original, it is still a thoroughly entertaining family romp.
This sequel lacks the zany spark that energized the first movie although the new film is often amusing and its narrative is more streamlined.
This is fun and there are few kids who won't have a good time of it. But it's no Honey, I Shrunk . . . The first movie was more interesting and inventive, with the tiny kids facing the jungle terrors of a giant lawn and the aerial attack of a zeppelin-sized bee.
It's one more example of minuscule ideas inflated to preposterous proportions: An Attack of the 50-Foot Marketing Hook. [17 Jul 1992, p.F10]
As one-joke movies go, it's fairly inoffensive but also never better than mildly diverting.
