This is the kind of made-for-cable-level movie where a pedestrian script (by Richard D’Ovidio) with the usual horror cliches is elevated by strong acting, no-nonsense direction and a couple of neat twists.
The twists in Hypnotic may not be brilliant, but they are abundant, making for the sort of straight-to-streaming treat best enjoyed on a couch, with company who will laugh with you and let you yell at the screen.

Kate Siegel does her best to elevate a simplistic thriller that follows all the same beats you're accustomed to.
The thrills here, whether you want to believe what Hypnotic is hawking, are far too mild to be satisfying for even a mindless viewing.
This slick and cheesy Netflix movie only occasionally rises to the potential of its wild premise, thanks mostly to a crazy-eyed, licking-his-chops performance from Jason O’Mara. He knows exactly what kind of material he’s working with here. For the most part, though, “Hypnotic” is dopey, but never quite dopey enough.
There’s zero, nay negative, fun to be had here, a potentially interesting, if not exactly original, sub-Manchurian Candidate idea (pre-programmed victims/accomplices are activated by a phone call) taken nowhere of interest.
Ignore the bad scores. This is an entertaining movie. The acting is good and the story is good. We used to call this sort of movie a "made-for-TV-movie." And that's an insult that means it won't get an Oscar. But who cares?

Achei muito interessante, apesar do final ser muito apressado, queria saber mais sobre o doutor pisicopata e sobre o policial, porém o filme entreteu meus amigos apesar de um deles ter dormido no meio do filme.
