Emmerich rewards our patience with an impersonally massive set piece involving the usual generic stew of mass CGI-imagined demolition. The insensitivity displayed toward human life in these sequences would be galling even by Emmerich's standards, if this pitiful albatross of corporate capitalism could work up enough energy to be offensive. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Not sure why this movie is receiving so many bad, hateful, and empty negative reviews. I loved the movie! The opening attack to earth was creative conceptually, intense, and visually amazing to boot. I don't fully agree with the "critic consensus" that this film "lacks emotional heft" because of the following: 1) Several characters died. 2) They came to the brink of annihilation. 3) Each character had motivation and determination which pumped-you up. The film was fast paced, but many movies are today, but in-turn there were no boring moments. Also, they overcame the enemy in a believable way. I am iffy about the reference to a possible sequel since it seems like a bigger bite than they can chew. To wrap-up, I enjoyed this movie a lot, and the only regret I have is that I didn't see it in IMAX!… Expand

Independence Day: Resurgence is one of those films that I like that others do not. It is a fun film to watch, the effects are terrific, and plus it has JEFF GOLDBLUM!!!!!!!!!!!! Need I say more? Oh, the aliens look much better than they did in 1996. Jessie Usher was a bad actor though.

Resurgence ultimately fails to live up to the standard of it's predecessor, hit & miss comedy, cheesy dialogue and some horrendous acting really flat lines the squeal. However the CGI & action sequences are done effortlessly and look crisp!

Najgorszy film jaki widziałem w ostatnim czasie. Poza CGI wszystko było tragiczne.
Scenariusz, dno.
Montaż, dno. Dialogi, dno. Gra aktorska, dno. (efekt montażu i dialogów) Ilość bezsensownych wątków przytłaczająca. Komplety brak logiki i konsekwencji u postaci. Gdyby czrnych zginą wNajgorszy film jaki widziałem w ostatnim czasie. Poza CGI wszystko było tragiczne.

Simply no comparison to the first part.
Here Emmerich has correctly grasped bib. Why?
Although he is a very visually beautiful film but the content is plump, can be provided, frumpy and has no wow moments as the first part. The cast is sparse and only the well-known actor (Bill PulmannSimply no comparison to the first part.

This is the best example of a mindless action, where anyone can do everything at any time, even if it breaks the laws of physics. Basically if you want to like this movie, shut down your brain and just enjoy visuals, because that's the only good thing in this movie.
