Jungle Cruise packs in everything satisfying about an adventure movie, with some of its own twists.
Led by the delightful pairing of Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson, Jungle Cruise knows how to enjoy itself, even if the journey is a bit overstuffed.

I don't think I have ever rated a movie on this site but I need to for this one. Absolutely Fantastic!!! WOW! It's that simple of a review....watch and enjoy this refreshing movie we all need right now.

Absolutely wonderful movie, very enjoyable, lots of action, funny moments, etc my husband and I loved it, my 3 children (16, 15, and 11), and my mother we all loved it! Truly one of Disney's best

Director Jaume Collet-Serra creates a romp of a picture booby-trapped with adventure movie tropes (arcane curses, snakes, evil Germans) which, while they might seem familiar to Indiana Jones fans, still combine to make for a decent family flick.
It’s something closer to an amusement-park attraction named Generic Blockbuster Cruise, where you slowly glide past a bunch of prefab set-ups — over there you’ll see some thrills, look out on your right for some spills and chills — and the whole thing moves inexorably forward on a track, while a skipper cracks the same corny jokes.
This is an untaxing, big-budget summer popcorn movie for the whole family. Like the ride itself, it requires no more mental engagement than you would devote to any theme park visit (excluding the thrill rides, which actually raise a pulse.)
Jungle Cruise is a two-hour movie that has far less consequence than a ride that’s a small fraction of that length. The experience the film more accurately simulates is the standing in line: all that tedious waiting in the heat for the fun to start.
To their credit, by the time the movie ends, Blunt and Johnson have made the sale. I believed them and liked seeing them together. They don’t make Jungle Cruise worth seeing or even worth tolerating. But for scattered minutes across this wasteland, they make it less painful.
There's a certain thing explored about a character in the 2nd act that just didn't work for me. Jungle Cruise is perfect for people who want a CGI-filled fun ride.

Without the performance and good chemistry of the cast this would be a below average movie. It is a good popcorn movie but will be fast forgotten. I should mention that it is not a Jumanji rip off and based on a Disney amusement park attraction like Pirates of the Caribbean. However it is not as good as either of those two. I would say it is one of the movies where I see great potential and sparkles of awesomeness but it fails to reach the heights. This movie I would describe it as fantasy adventure set in the World War 1 era. It is the story of Dr. Lily Houghton and her brother MacGregor who want to find the legendary “Tears of the Moon” blossoms who could cure any injury and illness in existence to help Britain in the war. They want the help of the Royal Society to fiance an expedition to the Amazon River to proof that the tears are not a fairy tale. However the Royal Society do not support them while a stranger wants to buy an artifact from their collection and they will meet a river steamboat captain who is a cunning trickster and badass. This is the set up for the movie. On paper it is excellent and works more than it misses. It has some lengths and gets better when the 3 main actors start the journey on the river. The actors save this movie for me. Lets start with Emily Blunt as Dr. Lily Houghton. She is amazing and fully delivers. Such a great performance that I want to see more. Then we have Dwanye Johnson as Frank Wolff who is a steamboat captain. He is a scroundrel, trickster, equally great. The chemistry and enjoyable banter between him and Emily Blunts character are a strength of the movie. Jack Whitehall as Mac Gregor Houghton is another great asset and shines in his role. Jesse Plemons is a great antagonist and so enjoyable. Maybe a bit to cliche but this takes not away my enjoyment. The rest also delivers and we have a good performance here. The humor works but reaches never a level where I could truly praise the movie. The special effects are top notch and fully convincing. I think the nailed the atmosphere. Overall I repeat my statement. It is a good popcorn movie but fast forgotten except for the great performance of the characters / actors.

Wasn't the whole goal of Emily Blunt's character was to get something that could heal people and The Rock's was to finally die? Why did she give him the herb thinking it was the last one. Really prioritized one guy over the entire world.

Jungle Cruise mediocre movie trip from Disney. You can recommend it only to a very children's audience. The story is banal and boring, CGI is not of the best quality, the main antagonist is cartoonish and is not spelled out as a character at all. It was hard to watch the film before the final credits.
