There’s a way of looking at this movie, a colossal tale of the sociopathy of American history, that’s a matter of listening to what’s said and what isn’t. The movie raises the idea of silence to a nearly transcendent pitch of passion.
This is a master artist putting a stamp on not only his own career, but also the entirety of American cinema and, why not, American history, too.

Martin Scorsese delivers! This is not just a Crime Film, it is a Historical Film! The Osage murders has since been widely forgotten to most people in the modern days and this film reminds us that this event really happened in the real world. I learned a lot of history from this movie, what humans are capable of out of greed, and the amount of suffering Mollie Kyle and the Osage went through. This film is well-directed, written, and also has wonderful acting from Lily Gladstone. I really wished she won Best Actress at the Academy Awards.

Above all, it’s a Martin Scorsese picture, brimming with reverence for a culture that survived a horrible trauma as it is filled with exhilarating flourishes, film history references, and explorations of the faultline between the sacred and profane. And yes: It’s a masterpiece.
It’s one of Scorsese’s most brutal films, yet one of his most thoughtful and self-reflexive, as he crafts a subversive murder “mystery” that leaves no lingering questions save for one.
Scorsese is a master at his peak who has made deliberate choices about the story he wants to tell, and the way he wants to tell it, and he makes all of it count.
Bolstered by a strong cast and a luscious color palette and landscape, Killers of the Flower Moon is worthy of a watch for those who can look past its romanticization. For those looking for a film that puts Native American voices and characters on center stage or a more comprehensive story, continue moving on, even with three-and-a-half hours, this is not that film.
Ms. Gladstone draws a lot of sympathy as the modest, helpless Mollie, but like everything else here her performance suffers from inertia. She spends the bulk of the movie mired in illness and despondency, and her look mirrors how I felt as I watched: numb and trapped.
Finally a great Scorsese movie again, and I only knew that in the outro :)
DiCaprio and De Niro were on their own level, wow.
The story is great, especially in the beginning, where you dont know the details, what is happening.
Visually its also stunning. The 200 Mio budget is clearly to see.

Sadly, the film doesn't get interesting until the final 3rd.
Lily Gladstone's interviews regarding the film are no different from her performance in this, which is dull and monotonous. DiCaprio puts in a good show, and DeNiro should have retired in 1997. If I hadn't watched it in the cinema, I would have quit Killers of the Flower Moon after 30-mins. The film, for the most part, feels like a **** exercise for Scorsese, who, unlike elder statesmen like Ken Loach or Michael Haneke, hasn't retained the edge which made him a cinematic legend in the first place.

A strange, frustrating hybrid, lacking sustained focus. The story might have been more effectively told from the point of view of the Osage, but today that would be impossible: charges of appropriation and racism would be sure to follow. The movie does have the rare virtue of finally casting Leo DiCaprio in a role which suits him, as a dim-witted good old boy who actually does love, in his puny inconsistent way, the wife he's systematically poisoning on his uncle's instructions. DeNiro is, unfortunately, a distraction. The movie itself offered better choices for the role.

I'm sure this is great if you can stick it out, but I couldn't. Started intriguingly, but got a bit boring and I gave up around half way through. I'm just not a fan of these super long films unless they're amazing almost constantly.

It is nice finally to see a 3.5-hour film that does not hypnotize its audience, but that is the most this film can do. The script is so badly done and the native people were written as unbelievably stupid, which breaks the compass of power dynamics within a story. There is a difference between that fact - people being naive and innocent - and the writing skill (the make-believe of such a fact). Unfortunately, this film fails terribly.
