Despite the best efforts of lead actor Adam Scott (who I’ve been a fan of since Parks and Recreation) the opening half hour is a little slow, and rather short on laughs, but the movie does pick up pace as it goes along and I found myself laughing fairly regularly during the second half of the movie despite its flaws. I’m not sure it ever reach true cult status but it makes for an enjoyable enough hour and a half. Expand

Too less horror and too less humor, but on Friday's show on Netflix can be fine. Expand

Being a parent can be tough. Especially when it isn't your kid. Little Evil pokes fun at the stresses inherent to being a stepdad. It's not uncommon for the new parent to feel their stepchild is the antichrist from time to time. Unfortunately for Adam Scott, in this case that comparison is true. Something that leads to a lot of funny hijinks.

Much like in Tucker & Dale, director Eli Craig does a great job of poking fun at familiar horror tropes. Each dark hallway and eerie setup leads to a clever gag. The setup this time around is less physical humor, and more on just having the actors say funny stuff. It mostly works. The supporting cast of other stepdads in particular are a laugh riot. The standout being Bridgett Everett who is the funniest thing about the movie. She really needs to be in more stuff. Scott still brings some laughs, but really he's here to do much of the plot carrying. Now, Little Evil doesn't quite reach the same heights as Tucker & Dale vs Evil. It's funny and has some sweet moments, but never really breaks out into all out hilarity. Still, it's a good follow up that shows there's still some life in the horror comedy scene. It's got enough laughs to make for an entertaining watch.

This is from the director of 'Tucker & Dale vs Evil'. So the expectations were high, but it was a let down. The film is watchable, but not good enough. It is actually a spoof. If you are familiar with common horror film cliches, then you will get most of it. Still, those things seem overused. I liked the idea, but I don't think they have used it in a better way. It was about a man who is married to a most beautiful woman. But the trouble is, her 5 year old boy who does not go along with him. Then he set to discover the dark secrets about him. Finally comes the time to make things right by confronting it.

Netflix was the game changer in the filmmaker, especially to reach the viewers, as well as young and small filmmakers. So no films are flop, because they have all the time in the world to collect back what they've spent, unlike big screen films depended on 2-3 month window through the box office. That's why I'm always eager to watch Netflix films. Because it's available anytime, anywhere. I know some people had liked the film, I guess they did that on the entertainment basis. Like enjoy watching it and then soon forget it. That little kid was cute, but his character was exactly opposite. The rest of the cast was not bad. A decent film for watching at once!

All the jokes in the movies were silly, except 1 or 2 scenes maximum, I think all jokes were directed to stepdad exclusively, maybe I would like film if I were stepdad.

Just skip it if you aren't stepdad.

It was wholesome I liked it, well there was some parts where I was like “okay that kid is a whole lot of **** no I’ll move” but then Lucas (the kid) and Gary (the stepdad) started to bond and it was just cute

What kind of crabby crabs sign in to give this movie a bad review? It is a lot of fun and maybe best appreciated by people who grew upon movies like "The Omen" and "Ghost Busters." Really a fun diversion and a good way to spend 90 minutes.
