Am I a huge ABBA fan? Yes. Is this a biased review? Yes.

I've probably watched this film a hundred times and every time, I love it like it's the first time seeing it. On a serious note, I absolutely love the cinematography in this, there are so many beautiful and perfectly framed shotsAm I a huge ABBA fan? Yes. Is this a biased review? Yes.

On a serious note, I absolutely love the cinematography in this, there are so many beautiful and perfectly framed shots that look great every time. The editing is also superb! The editor perfectly cut the scenes, giving enough time for emotions and suspense to develop, perfect. In terms of music, there was a great selection of ABBA, and each song perfectly fit in with what was going on in the story.

Surprisingly, I haven't seen the new film so I'll be getting onto that very soon. I don't think it's going to top the first film but it could surprise me.… Expand

Silly, corny, touching, charming, not a great epic movie, but it was exactly what I needed. I thoroughly enjoyed the actors, the music and the story. I didn't have to think too hard, just had to sit and be entertained which I was!!

Mamma Mia! is definitely a summertime fun movie. It wasn't a great story, the camera flailed about wildly, the singing was okay in spots and had Meryl not joined this cast, this would have been a really terrible experience. But thankfully she was on screen, she was great, and she held Mamma Mia! is definitely a summertime fun movie. It's become a bit of a cliche these days to underestimate the impact of a good set of vocal chords. but I think that we can safely assume that Mr. P. I mean really people, we need to get over our idolization of 'A' list actors, and actually cast some true to life broadway talent in these roles that involve singing, lest we all leave the theaters futily trying to stem the bleeding coming from our ears. This is the WORST movie musical I've ever seen ... and I remember "Can't Stop The Music"! The writing is so wretched it sounds like it was written by a 12 year old girl and although I like ABBA's music as pop songs they do not work in a book musical.
