"Mortal" is norse god awful. It was like watching a very uninteresting, pointless and extremely drawn out opening scene from a superhero movie and ironically it ended when other movies would begin. The taglines for the movie reveals that the"Mortal" is norse god awful. This was an entertaining movie. It is a fairly grounded take on lore and an enjoyable journey of self discovery.

This is a very intruiging movie. Slow at times, but never boring. The norwegian more hopeful and accepting touch is very refreshing, not the usual american nihilistic drudge they have been torturing us with for over 10 years now. The critics score shows very prominently, how out of touch critics are with the real quality of movies and with the taste of the people who pay money for watching it.

I watched it with the curiosity to understand how much the Norwegians could and wanted to get away from X-Men and MCU by returning Thor to Nordic mythology. Instead, Øvredal takes a Hollywood star like Nat Wolff and gets(Mauro Lanari)

Nat Wolff plays an American backpacker in Norway, who can affect people and the environment. He doesn’t know where the powers came from or how to control them, but every time he gets stressed things get broken, burnt or dead. He doesn’t know where the powers came from or how to control them, but every time he gets stressed things get broken, burnt or dead. The story starts in one direction and takes 2 plot turns before the final reveal. In the interim, there’s lots of mystery and flashy special effects, not to mention the spectacular scenery of the fjords. The story’s slow burn (pun intended) keeps the tension up and even though the relationship that develops is trite, it adds a personal level to the action. A sci-fi mystery that’s completely compelling and pretty cool.… Expand

Didn't know much about plot so was very pleasantly surprised. Beautiful cinematography, great acting and good sparse special effects. The story is very good and carries the viewer along to a very unexpected ending. Hope this gets a sequel butDidn't know much about plot so was very pleasantly surprised.
