New Suit is devilishly good fun.
A witty new indie with a good cast and high production values that has fun with the absurdity of the frenzied bidding wars that can break out over a "spec" script by an unknown or first-time screenwriter.
In not taking itself too seriously New Suit scores more points than some pictures that take a scathing approach.
Takes a relatively easy route by bestowing happy endings on the principals, but at least it’s savvy enough to realize that showbiz isn’t all there is to life.
The sturdy premise delivers little in the way of actual laughs.
Despite frequent cuts to mambos and cha-chas, this insulated tale of rich interns swindling rich studio bosses has no “Clueless”-style SoCal breeze (or righteous “Working Girl” gotcha).
Toothless, unbelievable and not particularly funny, New Suit is no threat to "The Player," "Swimming With Sharks" or "The Big Picture," to name but three more interesting pictures in this inside-baseball genre.
