New Year's Eve is dunderheaded kitsch, but it's the kind of marzipan movie that can sweetly soak up a holiday evening.
Less a film than a product, New Year's Eve is so carefully calculated as to be, in its own way, admirable.

It's safe to say to no idea was nixed on the set of New Year's Eve for being too cheesy or sentimental; if anything, ideas were nixed for not being sentimental or cheesy enough.
The sanitized setting and sappy script are so littered with cardboard characters and crass product placements that you'll mourn for the muggers and porno theaters that De Niro cursed in "Taxi Driver."
New Year's Eve is a dreary plod through the sands of time until finally the last grain has trickled through the hourglass of cinematic sludge. How is it possible to assemble more than two dozen stars in a movie and find nothing interesting for any of them to do?
New Year's Eve. It's big and shiny and crowded and no matter how much you might look forward to it, it never lives up to the hype. The movie is even worse.

New Year's Eve. Did you manage to get everything done in the past year? Garry Marshall decided to repeat the strategy of his previous film "Valentine's Day" and therefore there is simply a huge number of celebrities in the new film (Halle Berry, Robert De Niro, Zac Efron, Ashton Kutcher, Sarah Jessica Parker and even Jon Bon Jovi) and this is only 10% of the entire list. Again, many storylines await us, some of which are intertwined in order to eventually report back from 10 and celebrate the New Year. Unfortunately, all this could not hook me like the above-mentioned "Valentine's Day" and if I am happy to review it every year, then I am unlikely to return to "New Year's Eve".

Same as the first cliche, A-List actors to bring in the money, predictable, ok plot but this one tries a little to hard, but I prefer this to the first. The movie as the same as the first are only for the months it portrays Only watch the movie in December and January. Every other month it will probably be boring. I mean I like it I just only hate Ashton Kutcher he really can't act all he does is either overact Yell, Scream, Childish. or underact boring, and stupid I dont like him in anything other then those What Happens in Vegas series thing. But I say watch New Years Eve in Dec and Jan.

Of all the romantic comedy arena films I've seen, this was definitely the worst. Every story was so thinly written and undercooked, I didn't care at all about any character. For such an incredibly stacked cast, they really didn't get to do much and when all the characters connect to each other at the end, it just didn't mean much when we never truly cared to begin with. Just watch "Love Actually". It's much better.

This was so painful. So, so painful. I'm not sure what the draw is to getting big casts and compiling them into crappy holiday movies, this and valentines day were a huge waste of time.
