Nobody is more violent lark than probing satire, but between Bob Odenkirk’s smartly underplayed performance, the surprises in the screenplay by Derek Kolstad (the “John Wick” series) and the puckishly brutal direction of Ilya Naishuller (“Hardcore Henry”), it’s a wonderfully paced and consistently clever action movie that ups the ante of a genre that’s been dominated by Liam Neeson clones.

In the Taken movies, the hilarity of mild-mannered Neeson going on a family vacation with hand grenades in his suitcase was never acknowledged, but it was there and part of the fun. Here, the comedy is closer to the surface, thanks to the wit of Kolstad’s screenplay and of Ilya Naishuller’s direction.

Best Movie of 2021 easily. Great action, great comedy and an all round good time.Soundtrack was absolutely perfect and fit the theme of the film extremely well. The only issue was the cinematography but the Pros outweigh the cons. 10/10 movie.

(Mauro Lanari) "John Wick" splits and doubles adding style and irony of a Ritchie or Besson. From the parts of an action movie adapted from a graphic novel, this updated version of "True Romance" (1993) and "A Life Less Ordinary" (1997) makes one regrets the glories of "True Lies" (1994), where Cameron's hand knew how to multiply the reading planes beyond measure.

It's a new version of A History of Violence for no reason at all. There's hardly plot, character development, or reason for it to exist. Just nothing for nothing's sake. Stupid.

This movie isn’t that good. It’s performances are stale and every character we are supposed to care about is invincible taking away any stakes it could potentially have. I know it is intentionally supposed to be bad, (at least I hope it is) but it’s not good at being funny while it’s intentionally bad. A lot of the lines are just dumb and not in a funny way.
