Pixar returns with a great big power-chord of a movie — heart-pumping, resonant, and positively harmonious.
Onward is a perfectly fine movie made up of elements of Guardians of the Galaxy, Zootopia, Coco, Wall E, and assorted other Disney products that it doesn’t employ quite as well. Your kids probably won’t notice, but you will.

Wanna talk about a movie that hits you right in your feels? For me this hit extra hard because my dad died when I was 7, but I was old enough to remember him. My little brother was only 3 and has basically no memories. While I'm the older sister instead of brother in this, I'm also a metalhead and geek and saw myself so much like Barley in this. What I wouldn't give to have my father back for a day.
So if you want to cry, but watch an amazing adventure, this is definitely a film I highly recommend. There's lots of laughs, magic, geek out moments and of course lots of feels.

Onward doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but spins it so well that it conjures a spell of its own as a new decade dawns with the Pixar touch intact.
It’s a fine movie: cute, clever, moving, and engagingly-told, an altogether painless confirmation of what we should all agree is Pixar’s basic aptitude for keeping kids’ asses in seats and parents from pulling out their hair.
You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. But first you have to cut through the noise.
Onward goes on and on, but it barely moves forward. Long before its 114-minute running time has elapsed, it has overstayed its welcome.
When the leads are drawn this terribly thin, and Onward is so hopelessly focused on the dad narrative that it can’t help but ignore its creativity in favor of mawkish afternoon special, the product stinks of a bad Amblin ripoff.

Lo so, il prossimo doveva essere il remake di Mulan, ma non ero psicologicamente pronto.
Comunque è un buon film, molto divertente, esilarante in certi punti. Ma è tristemente trascinato giù dalla storia fin troppo prevedibile e dai **** per nulla interessanti. Gran peccato ma, sapendo com'è la Pixar negli ultimi anni, non dovrei nemmeno sorprendermi.
Consigliato? Prendetelo per quello che è, è divertente quanto basta.

I don't get the cult classic hype around this movie, because it's genuinely nothing special and nothing good. It's boring, unfunny and manipulative, and probably the most forgettable Pixar movie ever. Considering that both Soul and Luca are better by landslides, this was a rather lackluster way for Pixar to start the 2020s.

Probably the worst effort Disney or Pixar have ever made. Felt completely by the numbers, predictable in every way, devoid of anything interesting. The focus on the brother's relationship is hard to dislike, but at the same time it was delivered in the most unremarkable and uninspiring way.
