It would seem to be a tall task for director Ryan White (“Good Night Oppy”) to find a fresh way to tell the tale — but thanks in large part to the 55-year-old Anderson’s funny, warm, smart and engaging presence as she literally opens the doors to her home and the pages of her diaries, “Pamela, A Love Story” is a fascinating albeit obviously sympathetic take on Anderson’s life and times. Consider that everything put in front of you is curated, and that it's thus naturally limited how much we as an audience can really be sure and know about people in the spotlight. Embora este documentário ainda sofra dos males comuns ao gênero (ser uma homenagem clean e, às vezes, tendenciosa demais), por incrível que pareça a história de Pâmela Anderson ganha contornos modernos e interessantes para se discutir o poder do corpo feminino, em uma época que serve tantoEmbora este documentário ainda sofra dos males comuns ao gênero (ser uma homenagem clean e, às vezes, tendenciosa demais), por incrível que pareça a história de Pâmela Anderson ganha contornos modernos e interessantes para se discutir o poder do corpo feminino, em uma época que serve tanto para o alvorecer da internet quanto para o seu auge.
É de se estranhar, pois, anos após o iminente sucesso da estrela, que nos déssemos conta do quão agressivo a exposição e o consumo do seu corpo o fora, é como se a sociedade inteira estivesse no espelho, e não somente a Pâmela.
Ela sem dúvida alguma foi uma jovem muito bonita para os padrões da época (e mesmo continua linda após o passar dos anos). Contudo, seu talento limitado não deveria permitir certas violências (físicas e simbólicas) a que se submeteu. O mais chocante é que ainda paira um ar de naturalização do seu corpo enquanto objeto, aí me pergunto o quanto as mulheres de fato ainda tem muito o que conquistar. Note-se que o documentário se esforça em criar uma imagem de mulher forte, que soube dar a volta por cima, mesmo tendo ciência do que ocorrera a ela (exposição de um vídeo íntimo com o marido Tommy Lee-Jones, na década de 1990)).
O documentário pouco explora, mas é nítida a diferença de impacto social entre o que lhe ocorrera e o impacto na vida do marido. A diferença é assustadoramente alarmante.
Fora isso, Pâmela sabe de suas limitações enquanto atriz ou cantora, no entanto, ela nunca tivera a oportunidade de crescer ou desenvolver trabalhos que lhe permitissem desafios maiores do que simplesmente mostrar os seios, exceto os últimos trabalhos, já com uma certa idade e sendo o tema "exibicionismo" não um tabu propriamente, mas ainda assim um elemento importante na modernidade, especialmente às mulheres.
Ás vezes parece que Pâmela conduz o roteiro, e isso não é nada bom em se tratando de biografias, como se estivéssemos a ver o fato unilateralmente (ela própria diz, em certa ocasião, que estamos vendo o lado dela da história). Claro que isso não é algo ruim, mas atenta contra a imparcialidade deste tipo de produção.
Ainda assim, os registros da época, a forma como ela foi desumanizada e, sobretudo, a postura da estrela, mesmo diante de claras violências, mostra o quão aguerrida ela fora. A mudança dela quando se tornou mãe é perceptível. E eu senti, de coração, que havia um ser humano por trás de todo aquele corpo, por mais modelado e midiático que fosse. Um grande documentário, que me surpreendeu positivamente e que toca em temas bem atuais, especialmente para o feminismo contemporâneo.… Expand
