A sly and thoroughly charming Trojan horse of a movie.
You may long for a more disreputable, less buttoned-up telling, but there is something about this one’s sleek, streamlined conventionality that feels both appropriate and pleasing.

Bad reviews are clearly from religious people who are offended by the subject matter and the real origin of wonder woman. It's a steamy story for sure and obviously some can't handle it. Just like the professor and the women was looked down upon back in the day. But for open minded people, this is a great movie

The film, rather than referring to the superhero genre, is a glimpse of the efforts to impose revolutionary ideas in a prim and pious society, loaded with prejudices. Action-hungry moviegoers might be disappointed, but that doesn't stop them from finding the flavor.

It’s quite a story and a cinematic task writer-director Angela Robinson is not always up to. But I wasn’t bored, and in this anemic year that’s saying a mouthful.
Evans, Hall, and Heathcote exhibit major chemistry (in every permutation) possible, but they also don’t wink at the storyline, playing a provocative story totally straight.
The story is absolutely fascinating, even if the filmmaking isn’t.
Writer-director Angela Robinson chronicles a complex love story that investigates kinkiness, social mores and the impetus for art, resulting in a drama that’s far more intellectually intriguing than emotionally engaging.
As well as showcasing the blandest and most tasteful three-way sex scene in history, this movie spreads an odd pall of sentimentality and period-glow nostalgia over a fascinating real-life story.
I enjoyed the story about the emergence of Wonder Woman and its direction. I also enjoyed learning about William Marston. The relationship storyline was not believable to me and some of the characters' actions felt contrived.

This is based on an incredible true story about the Harvard psychologist (Luke Evans) who created the iconic comic book character in the 40s. He and his wife (also a behaviorist) enlisted a young woman to be their teaching assistant and the trio ended up living together and co-parenting 4 children. His relationship with these 2 empowered women, their kinky proclivities and his own theories on psychology inspired the Wonder Woman character and her exploits. Of course, the actors in this film are more Hollywood pretty than the real people, but their performances are nuanced and compelling. Even as this fascinating story unfolds, the measured pace and serious intensity made the film more plodding than necessary to do justice to their unique history.

If you would ever wonder how this film managed to become so powerful to the mind, yet has trouble attempting to get a higher score than it has received, Professor Marston and the Wonder Women easily reminds you, although very unmissable at first attempts of watching, why it attempts to purposely fail to earn a higher score.

Of late there have been plenty of stories revealing that Hollywood and the entertainment industry is full of perverts, and this film shows that it has been a cesspool of moral filth for a long, long time.
