I have kinda mixed feelings about this movie. Most people say that they like it because it looked like a kid's cartoon but represents something more. Speaking of action, as soon as you see frame drops you know that you're about to get another exhilarating fight scene with some of the best choreography in recent memory. Plus, the fights are very easy to evoke the correct emotions. For example, with a specific character in their appearance throughout the movie, we get a fear-filled fight amplified with terrifying sound design or simply appearing, it allows fear and tension to be built rapidly.

The only issues are that some of the plot points are rapidly skipped over or take a while to start moving and some animations are noticeably repeated; in a charming way

Honestly, even if you despise the first Puss in Boots this is a must watch with anyone you can drag along into the ride seeing it's got the best features of an animated movie of it's kind: it's beautifully animated, exciting, tense, heartwarming and ultimately a spiritual successor to Spiderverse with a lot of their similarities.

Please watch this in any (legal) way possible, if you want a truly memorable experience.… Expand

The film's animation and art style is amazing, blending stylized 3D visuals with beautiful 2D animation and effects to create a visually appealing movie, on the lines of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse.

Then we get the story, a story that deals with the themes of life and death so maturely that you forget this is supposed to be a family-friendly children's movie. And that's because it's a movie for everyone who's protagonist just happens to be your favourite fearless hero, Puss in Boots. I haven't seen a film deal with this theme so maturely in so long. The acceptance of one's own mortality being a reason to find things worth fighting for in your one life. PIB might be the best interpretation and dealing with said theme i have ever seen. And at the heart of it all is a film that doesn't take your time for granted, being around 100 minutes long, short for this current age of cinema, keeps the pace going whilst allowing for those slow moments to make you feel Puss' every thought and feeling on his latest adventure. And plenty of fun and entertainment to be had. No matter how old you are, you need to go see this movie… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. OMG is this my favorite movie of 2022 (and I'm a film student!), this movie is full of so many charming characters, incredible animation and fantastic music.
To be completely honest, I haven't seen the first one but this just shows that anyone can go to a cinema or watch it online and have an amazing time. my personal favorite part are the characters, you would think that in a movie with 6 villains would feel crowded and overwhelming but it works phenomenally! each type of character is present in this film, there is the obvious hero with an interesting conflict on his own, the sidekick who has a backstory with the main character, the cute and charming yet funny companion, the villain that is evil just for the sake of it, the villain with a touching story and an incredibly threatening villain that has a personal problem with the main character and yet I am never sad whenever we cut to a different character since all of them are so good!
I really really hope this film does good in ratings and earnings because it sure does deserve it.
I wanted to rate this a 9.6 but I talked myself to like it even more so its a 9.8 to me, I wish I made people understand the impact of this film.… Expand

I loved what they did to one of the antagonists and how he affects the cat. Most of the jokes work (it's a shame they show the montage of lives in the trailers), the arcs are well divided, the characters' goal, I can say that Spiderverse had its share of influence in the animation, which is beautiful.
The team has a lot of work ahead of them if they want to make one more, and the cat is an excellent character who deserves the challenge.
You can watch it, it's really worth it !… Expand

Supera en todos los aspectos a su predecesora pasando de lo grandioso a lo impecable, una historia más consistente y profunda, personajes más variados, mejor escritos y más empaticos, cosa que antes no ocurría. Secuelas así son las que el público merece, ya denle el Oscar de inmediato.

Pros: Los personajes y sus motivaciones personales, en especial el perrito. El concepto de la amistad y de cómo la unión hace la fuerza.

La representación de La Muerte a través de un aterrador lobo y sobre como la redención del gato con botas fue fundamental para poder vencerlo.

Contras:

No es el villano en sí ni en como actúa para intentar lograr sus objetivos, sino la casi nula profundidad que se le da a sus motivaciones, las cuales son las de cualquier otro villano pero con menos gracia, el poder absoluto.… Expand

Wasn’t expecting much from this movie. In fact, was thinking who the hells great idea was it to make another mediocre shrek side character movie. Oh how I was so wrong. Right from the start this movie captures you. Loved it. Also, my 3 1/2 yrWasn’t expecting much from this movie. It's fine, but not nearly as funny or clever as the preceding Shrek films. Dreamworks has been killing it lately. Great movie with lots of character in both its art style as well as its story. All the characters in the movie are compelling, especially Death, which is one of the most terrifying villains so far in aDreamworks has been killing it lately. Surprisingly, a lot of dark themes are explored in this movie that most animation studios would probably stay away from, which makes it deeper and more enjoyable for adults. Yet another best quality animated movie of the year from Dreamworks along side The Bad Guys. Meaningful movie. I haven’t seen this amazing animation film like this since Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was released in theaters. I love this antagonist character name Death. He was so bad ass. The story telling and the animation was amazing. And it literally felt like they had some anime inspiration into this film as well. This movie better wins some awards and not just be nominated. I really hope this film wins the Academy Awards for Best animation film.… Expand

Gato com bota la ultima estreya, es una maravilhosa pelicula.

all Shrek or Puss in Boots movies are without grace, they try to make jokes, but they end up very bad, to the point of not making you laugh, to say that there is a lot of ideology in these films.

Honestly incredible movie, much better then the first one with lots of characters to enjoy. The big bad wolf is honestly the scariest dreamworks villian for a childerens movie. I dont give 10s often but this is different.

Lots of fun! It's silly, adventurous, exciting, and funny.

I love how Banderas just goes for it with the character. And the animators are full tilt like Spiderverse. For families: it has some scary moments, implied language (bleep, bleepLots of fun! It's silly, adventurous, exciting, and funny.

For a sequel to a Shrek spinoff movie, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is pretty damn good.
