Ready Or Not is an exquisite horror comedy heavy on familial dysfunction, heavier on gameplaying brutality, and always a reminder that Samara Weaving deserves to be the biggest of megastars.
There is an elegance to the premise – an otherwise straightforward cat-and-mouse chase around a gothic mansion – and a satisfying clip to the rewardingly gory action.

Для меня лучший ужастик, после первой части "Оно", становится именно этот фильм. Актерская игра главной героини, просто прекрасна, отыграла почти реалистично. Д и все актеры смотрятся очень приятно, и каждый играет на 10. Кого то жалко, кого то прям так и охото, чтобы его вывели поскорей из игры. Элементы комедии сделаны тоже на высшем уровне, не ловишь стыда от той или иной шутки. Все на высшем уровне. Рекомендую!

Ready or Not can be described as the fusion of dark comedy with the Grand Guignol. Unafraid to venture into cinematic taboo territory for its shocks and laughs, the movie doesn’t have many sacred cows. It’s the kind of thing we might have gotten if Monty Python had made a gothic-tinged horror movie.
The wow factor of Ready or Not helps you jump the hurdles of any plot predictability.
Only in its giddily gory finale does the outrageousness of the film's violence come close to matching that of its plot.
While the mocking tone mostly undermines any trenchant commentary, the strongest impression Ready or Not leaves, thanks to Weaving’s eye-rolling, primal-screaming, evil-giggling performance, is of the cathartic, transformative female rage at the center of it all.
The problem with Ready or Not is that directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (“V/H/S”) don’t know what kind of movie they want to make, or what to do with their heroine. There are constant shifts in tone — is it a comedy, like the trapped-in-a-mansion “Murder By Death”? A satire on the rich? A kick-ass revenge picture?
To me, it was the quintessential Black Comedy and the lead actress was amazing.

Predictable yet entertaining horror/thriller/comedy lark. The cast is great and given the limited budget there is an excellent production quality to it. Sadly nothing quite special enough to elevate things above the average marker but it's clear this was made from a team that loved what they were creating.

The film was entertaining and intense. I did enjoy my time and was on the edge of my seat for most of it. That said, Ready or Not had so many plot holes that the Director can now start a new career making swiss cheese. The bride who needed to hide from the family killers had the parcour skills of Lara Croft mixed with the fighting skills of freakin’ Jackie Chan. We are given NO context as to her capabilities and relies blindly on our ability to suspend belief. That aspect irked me the most but there were several moments where things made little to no sense unless you don’t feel like thinking about things and were just looking for an escape. Many of the plot points seem to be driven by sheer stupidity on the characters ends and the whole thing basically comes across as just one big joke about crazy rich in-laws. The acting was pretty solid for the most part, but they really needed to tighten up the screws on the plot. Side note: someone brought a baby to our showing... Seriously?!?! WHAT AN IDIOT. Do they live under a rock and not see the fact this film was rated R?!?! What a LOSER.

This is what happens if Disney is involved in a "horror comedy thriller". The movie is confused with what it wants to be: social commentary, horror movie, suspense thriller or comedy. Unfortunately it doesn't tick any of those boxes and ends up as it's own punchline. At best, it's a B-horror movie that should have gone straight to DVD. The jokes are dry, the plot development is painfully obvious, the script reads as if it has been written by a badly trained bot and the characters lack any depth which makes it even harder to take seriously. Some of the actors did their best with the available material but unfortunately there wasn't much to work with. The concept is actually interesting but the execution is severely lacking. I understand horror movies don't have to be deep but this was too surface level, too contrived, had no substance whatsoever.

Stupid movie! Don't bother yourself to watch this satanic cult movie. I don't believe in 21st century people still believe this **** and make a movie about it. There is no logical explanation of this **** there is no life lesson you can take from this **** and there is no value at all. Hope the director and all crew got horrible deaths like this movie. **** you! Whoever made this ****
