Red Snow is a lot of fun. The two leads are well written and excellently performed. The jabs at traditional vampire lore prove to be most amusing. While it never becomes creepy, the film still is an absolute blast from beginning to end.
Red Snow does a surprisingly good job of manipulating, and then subverting, your sympathies for these particular devils.
Home Alone meets The Lost Boys in this trashy half-way entertaining Christmas vampire movie from director Sean Nichols Lynch; it’s a black comedy with some silly splattery gore.
Red Snow isn’t very good, as a package. It opens with a night-filmed, poorly-conceived and acted “first kill,” drops abruptly into the broad daylight banalities of Olivia’s life and never gets up any sort of head of steam. But I like what they were going for here, as obvious as it seems. Nice try. Now have another go of it.
