Great movie, Super emotional, cast is beyond on point. Boxing movies are always going to have the same cliches but thats just part of the game. a must see for any fight fan. It's a look at life behind the scenes that may make you question how much your fav fighters really gave up to put on a show.

The movie is great but not perfect. Jack gyllenhaal gives an outstanding performance and we can see that he gave his best in physique and acting. It is an Oscar worthy performance but highly doubtful weather will be nominated due to the other flaws with the movie. The fight scenes wereThe movie is great but not perfect. The sound effects were great. The biggest problem with the movie was the boxing Cliche. Its almost similar to rocky 3. The training montage wasn't big enough and the bond between Jake's and Forest's cha racters wasn't shown enough in the training montage.The whole movie was shown in the trailer.

In the end Southpaw is a must see movie for gyllenhaal's performance but don't expect anything new to the boxing genre.… Expand

Movie quite good. Could show glory and the tragedy in the movie, and that as the person could pass all difficulties of life and rise to the feet after death of the wife.

This movie shows the story of boxer Billy Hope (Jake Gyllenhaal) getting his life turned upside down after a tragic event and his struggle to get it back together for his young daughter. You get to see Hope at the top, plummet to the bottom and then work his way back up. You get to see Hope at the top, plummet to the bottom and then work his way back up. Along side Gyllenhaal, Southpaw stars Rachel McAdams, Forest Whitaker and 50 Cent! Written by Sons Of Anarchy writer, Kurt Sutter, and backed by Eminem (who was originally going to star as Hope) and his people taking care of the music side, this film is hard hitting and intense throughout it. I spent the movie waiting for Eminem's "Phenomenal" to start playing and it comes in at such a perfect spot. Gyllenhaalhas been picking great roles in movies recently and becomes completely immersed in the roll, I recognized him only by his face, he changes completely for the roll. All in all, this movie has a good story, different from the typical underdog boxing story, some serious fighting and quite good acting overall, especially a great performance from Gyllenhaal. Definitely worth the watch, sports movie fans will enjoy this one.… Expand

Predictable hollywood trash over acted by 2 of the most overrated actors going around in jake Gyllenhaal and forest whitaker. I would be surprised if anyone got fooled in to caring about any of the paper thin characters in this movie. Terrible.
