At 108 minutes, Staten Island Summer does wear thin around its middle, and it suffers from a conclusion that just never seems to know when to wind down for good, but it's an amusing feature that just might be destined for the kind of cult affection heaped on its ilk.
Staten Island Summer is a refreshingly old school coming-of-age comedy with just enough raunchiness, stoner humor and otherwise dubious behavior to divert movie audiences weaned on violated pies and superbad high jinks.

A movie that won’t knock you out with originality but may charm you with its wit.
The best that can be said about teen sex comedy Staten Island Summer is that it goes down easy.
They don’t make movies that seem to purposefully waste the talents of current “SNL” stars much any more. Well, except for this one.
It all goes nowhere slowly, with only a few visual jokes to break the monotony.
Breaking the laws of human nature is an ancient comic convention, but it only works when it leads to a laugh.
