I thought the movie was great with right amount of blood splatter along with ridiculous "origin explanation" of whete the mutants came from. Quite honestly, if im going to watch a b movie about giant mutant wasps attacking a garden party - im not expecting a lot of depth to the plot. Quite honestly, if im going to watch a b movie about giant mutant wasps attacking a garden party - im not expecting a lot of depth to the plot. This film had good effects, not the typical cast of characters, and a (slightly expected) twist at end. A great late night monster flick. Actually reminded me a bit of 8-legged freaks. From an early look I thought that the movie was going to be a decent B-Movie seeing that it used some practical effect and some of the wasp creatures looked pretty cool and well done with the exception of the CGI effect. However the issue is with the characters.

The main hero is shown as a slacker and not really likable but when chaos starts he turns into a hero a complete 180 of what he was. We also has Lance Henriksen who turned from the drunk Mayor to a likable aged war hero. While not perfect I was entertained by the movie and the ended which I will not spoil was kind of creepy.…Expand

Does it fill these opportunistic wholes? In some cases, yes. There were a few nifty and pretty skin crawling visuals, and I chuckled here and there. But overall, this dumb mess of dialogue and awkward humour with characters you simply do not care about as their background is rushed and embarrassing. I was consistently questioning the choice of pacing as well as the lore of these mysterious bee like creatures. Give the monster some damn respect! It has all the wacky potential with little entertainment added to it. I really would give this one a miss, Stung is not funny nor scary enough to be anything. It's an experiment, and much like it's displayed creatures, turns out ugly and disgusting, coated with blood.…Expand
