Teen Titans Go! To the Movies is one of the biggest surprises at the movies this summer. In fact, it’s downright super.
Smart and stupid in equal measure, this is a palate cleanser after the doom and gloom of Justice League. The Titans could make you fall back in love with the entire DC Universe.

This is a show that adults can more than merely tolerate; I am happy to binge-watch it with my nine-year-old.
Teen Titans Go! To the Movies is loud, cheery and fairly relentless in its assault on your rib cage. The pleasingly rudimentary visual design, all bright colors and madly expressive eyebrows, is no more and no less than what the material requires.
Although obviously geared to the small fry who will no doubt eat it up, Teen Titans Go! To the Movies will provide many laughs for their adult chaperones as well.
This film leans hard into its irreverence, knowingly sacrificing mystery and twists for foolproof laughs.
The animation’s so flat, static and dull it relies on brighter-than-bright sparkly colors to make it pop. Like “Power Puff Girls” or “My Little Pony.” The jokes are infantile-obvious and pounded home with a sledgehammer, as if the writers figured they had to get through something especially thick.
I would have given it a little better rating if not for the subpar animation. Teenagers who want to be superheroes want to star in a movie about them, but they need to defeat an evil archrival first (at least temporarily until the sequel). Even if the ordinary superheroes defeat them, they continue with their attempts. As a result, they defeat the evil balloon man utilising rap lyrics as their preferred weapon. Good parody of the genre all around.
