An interesting concept completely wasted. The idea could have lent itself to some smart challenging moments while still having the blood and violence. Instead all we get is the blood and violence. Battle Royale meets The Hunger Games meets Office Space. Good combination, right? Well, kinda. The Belko Experiment is a mixed bag, filled with extreme gore and gruesome deaths.

The Belko Experiment relies on a plot that can easily confuse people that don't focus on movies often. It may have a lot of great awards for at least trying, but the watch meter cannot be any higher than 50%. The Belko Experiment settles for a more bland and conventional take on its original and very interesting idea, and throws in too many side-plots with characters that are very hard to root for.

If you like dumb zombie type movies with gore and movies with poor plots, you might like this movie. If you need an actual coherent rational plot though, you might hate it. I found it pretty mediocre, as it just happened to be on while IIf you like dumb zombie type movies with gore and movies with poor plots, you might like this movie. I found it pretty mediocre, as it just happened to be on while I was doing something else, kept it on and it was sortof, ok enough to watch the rest to see what would happen..but it wasn't very good. (Not horrible either.) Surprisingly decent cast which made me think there had to be something more there...but nope. Rather pointless by the end so it was just an OK late night movie to have on...if it happens to be on, but thats about it.… Expand

After seeing the trailer I had really high hopes for this movie - it seemed like it has comedic element to it and at the same time some type of a psychological thriller is going on (like in ''Exam'', ''Cube'' etc), so I hoped for an awesomeAfter seeing the trailer I had really high hopes for this movie - it seemed like it has comedic element to it and at the same time some type of a psychological thriller is going on (like in ''Exam'', ''Cube'' etc), so I hoped for an awesome mix of a thriller with comedic elements. In the end comedy elements (most of them) were only in trailer and the actual experiment seemed pointless. Spoiler alert - basically shooting everyone down until one guy is left might have been interesting, but here it was made so boring and ended without anything really what you could remember (besides the last scene with all the monitors from other places). Either way - I think I just enjoyed it because I like the genre, so might have still given a bit too high rating, but it definitely lacks many things.… Expand

Un peu de SAW (sadique) et un peu de The Experiment (le fameux film allemand bien entendu, pas le remake américain) pour ce Battle Royale impromptu au bureau : pour survivre, il faudra en effet buter vos collègues et voire plus si affinités !Un peu de SAW (sadique) et un peu de The Experiment (le fameux film allemand bien entendu, pas le remake américain) pour ce Battle Royale impromptu au bureau : pour survivre, il faudra en effet buter vos collègues et voire plus si affinités ! sinon vous êtes virés... euh je veux dire, vous finirez ad patres, y compris les pacifistes ravis de la crèche.

La réalisation est de bon aloi et les comédiens font ce qu'ils peuvent mais on regrette que le film soit globalement assez lent et qu'il hésite souvent entre l'ironie et le drame (sanglant). Il se ressaisit dans son dernier tiers (et pourtant il fait moins d'une heure et demi !) pour proposer un massacre assez gratifiant néanmoins. Mais c'est un peu tard...

Finalement à hésiter sans cesse, il échoue et ne marque que peu de points : ce n'est pas l'Expérience, ce n'est pas non plus l'hilarant Battle Royale japonais... il faut dire que ces deux-là sont des pointures dans leur domaine !

Belko reste toutefois distrayant et de temps en temps drolatique même s'il manque nettement d'imagination.… Expand
