This religious-themed drama earns points for proselytizing in more narratively compelling form than usual. But while the film is watchable and features some effective performances, suffice it to say that it isn’t exactly All the President’s Men.

Although it sporadically errs on the side of sentimentality and simplification, The Case for Christ sustains interest, and even generates mild suspense, while offering a faith-based spin on the template of an investigative-journalism drama.

This is better than War Room, this is such a strong film that someone ever made about an atheist who was trying find evidence of Christ until he realized at the end.

The Case For Christ is pretty slow going, tedious rather than offensive, with Strobel repeatedly whiteboarding out the evidence as callback voice-overs add up all the pieces until he’s convinced. “All right, God,” he finally says. “You win.”

Give credit to the filmmakers for making a faith-affirming picture that aims to be more thoughtful than maudlin. But what they’ve ended up with is a fairly rote Christian redemption narrative — albeit with more charts and graphs.

It is a story of an individual who was living his life as an atheist and tried his best to prove that the resurrection of Jesus is a myth. But failed to do so due to overwhelming historical evidence and a praying wife. "A new heart I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you; and I will remove from your body the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." -Ezekiel 36:26 (NRSV)

A beautiful, cinematic film, and a great performance of Lee Strobel's story. It was visually appealing and well executed. I highly recommend watching it.

Movie was very moving. It is great information for the non-believer to study and verify the information themselves. Christ has a way of calling you. Maybe this is your call. It was great!!!!

A story of fiction that presents another story of fiction as true. There's some deep semiotics here if only somebody wasn't so serious about the plot. With congenitally poor reasoning, mission failure is a foregone conclusion, but it sort of succeeds as a work of art. Competent performances, tight editing, fine photography, and decent pacing serve as admirable crutches for an absurd story.

Absolute garbage. It's christian propaganda to indoctrinate people, with terrible arguments and lots of falacies. Most of the movie I was cringing so hard, and shaking my head. If at least they would've tried to be subtle about it, but it's so obvious it's painful to watch. Stay away.
