What elevates this sequel are stakes.
The Equalizer 2's conventional storytelling is certainly weak, and the violence is particularly brutal, but Denzel Washington and Antoine Fuqua have created a unique Punisher-with-heart vigilante character that is a pleasant thrill to watch and a modest delight to revisit.

this film become one of my favorite movies. i love both 1 & 2 , Action and Dramatic absolutely good

Washington has the quiet authority, and Fuqua the stylistic chops, but the story they’re telling becomes more predictable as it goes along. Once it’s over, you won’t necessarily be itching for an Equalizer 3.
It’s purely unintentional, but the little numeral dangling, like a broken, mangled finger, from the end of the title of The Equalizer 2 signals more than the fact that this is a sequel to the 2014 action thriller about a violent vigilante. It also lets you know that there are two, and only two, pleasures to be had here.
In the past, this kind of character, who abhors swear words but kills with obvious relish, would’ve been positioned as an interesting contrast. In The Equalizer 2 it just feels like unexamined orthodoxy. It feels like the symptom of a very American kind of brain sickness.
This time around, Denzel’s “Equalizer” is less of a Robin Hood-like hero for the helpless, and more of a Travis Bickle-like vigilante, shooting his way through a murder caper that has neither the incentive nor the heart of its already forgettable precursor.
“The Equalizer” should be locked in a room with “The Terminator.” Then this lousy series would finally be killed off.
The Equalizer 2 was awesome, sequels tend to be meh, but they actually did a really good job, everything I loved with the first movie I could find in this one with a new story. Denzel Washington doing a great job as usual. 10/10 *I hope they do one more and because there is definitely another story that could develop from this one. *When you watch the movie you will know what I mean.

The story had sometimes no recurrent theme. Dencel was like always coom though.

They wasted a good cast on junk writing. There are so many needless sub-plots that are a total waste of time, Especially when they revolve around one-off characters that won't even be around for the sequel (if there is one). And the action is too far and in-between. Also, What was up with him just immediately figuring out the real villain behind it all not even halfway through the movie? Denzel's character pretty much flat out confronts him and says "I know it was you". It's like the writer didn't even attempt some kind of grand reveal or mystery behind it and the real villain's reasoning is just painfully generic too.
