Espectacular. Por supuesto un poco distinta a la primera, un poco más adaptada a los nuevos tiempos. Pero no deja de tener esos diálogos espectaculares que nos hace replantearnos todo lo que pensamos, todo lo que somos.

This feels much lower-budget than the first one, but it's mostly the acting and to some extent the sound design. There are a few older actors and they do their parts perfectly fine - except William Katt - and then there's the "student" part of the cast, who are pretty much all sub-par (or come out that way due to insufficient cuts to pick from? - not sure how much this has to do with budget). It's a bit a of a shame because the story continuation isn't... necessarily a catastrophe. In some ways it could've been better (like they should've found some intelligent way to make us believe this could happen to someone with thousands of years of experience protecting themselves), but it was a good decision to open-end it and make it so it can redeem itself in a third part.
The big choice to make on the story side is: either keep it focused on religion but then go all the way with the concept of him being someone who's seen everything, heard everything and knows everything that's important to know in the dominant currents of human spirituality (and have him behave as a modern-day prophet somehow?) ORRR switch it up and make him about something other than his religious experience, some other form of deep wisdom or other ability that could be cultivated over thousands of years.
In the end, I'm donating to this team - I think good things can still come out of toying around with this concept some more.

We start with a short synopsis of the film
The 2007 film "The Man from Earth" is an independent science fiction film that takes place entirely in one room. It tells the story of a university professor, John Oldman (David Lee Smith), who reveals to his colleagues that he is actually a 14,000-year-old caveman. He tells them about his life over the centuries, moving from one civilization to another, changing his name and profession each time to avoid being discovered.
The Man from Earth. is an intelligent and intriguing film that explores questions of identity, memory and reality. It has become a cult film since its release and is often cited as one of the best independent science fiction films ever made.
Jerome Bixby's screenplay is intelligent and well written. It asks interesting questions about identity, memory and reality. The film is also very well made, with effective direction and elegant photography.
The film is slow at times, and it can be difficult to follow all the philosophical discussions. Additionally, the plot is somewhat predictable, and the film ends on an anticlimactic note

Since the base movie isn't here, I'll just use this one to rate it (I have not seen Holocene just to be extra clear).
This umm, movie is one of the worst I've seen and I've seen some really bad low budget stuff. It has, no likable characters, no use of basic film techniques, and laughable acting.
Here are my memories of this movie

Grandpa is has a heart-attack
One shot of the MC holding the gun and the camera actually trying to get a different angle of it.
Other than that it is at best, a short 10 page story, but put into a movie, that uses zero advantages of the film medium.
