Charles Bronson, who has recently started to enjoy a long-delayed superstar status, is very good and slit-eyed as the mechanic, and the movie's premise is a nice one with a lot of neat twists toward the end.
Michael Winner keeps the tempo at fever-pitch despite deficiencies of feature’s opening sequences.
A glossy, violent, pointless movie from the team who later perpetrated Death Wish; mildly entertaining if you want to watch Bronson suggesting silent, brooding menace for the umpteenth time.
I suspect that another, tougher director might have made something quite interesting of the same script.
Though extremely violent, the film is surprisingly boring in spots.
