Like leading lady Williams, the exterior of The Perfection is flawless, covering up the darkness that lies beneath. The wild ride in store is both supremely disturbing and unpredictable. But rendered with such care, skill and sheer glee — it’s utterly divine.
It delivers. The Perfection is a pure hit of twisted, absurd camp catnip.

probably the critics hate this film because they are the antagonist in this movie. This movie is a masterpiece.

This is a filmmaker aware of the conventions, who wields them with wit and precision and knows his audience is on the gag as well. In many ways, The Perfection amounts to little more than a bag of tricks. But no one is pretending otherwise. And they’re good tricks.
The Perfection takes deep, fetishistic satisfaction in pushing the envelope, then pushing it some more, building in seductive fits and shocking starts to an orgiastic frenzy of cinematic excess. Is it a progressive movie? Not especially, but that’s okay as long as you know what you’re getting into.
There’s a rare unpredictability that initially proves alluring, at least until that confusion starts to feel less intentional.
With a script by Eric C. Charmelo, Nicole Snyder and Shepard, The Perfection has a gory grindhouse sleaze overlaid with the tony gleam of the upper-crust, a very sick combo.
Either this movie was made due to one of the most humongous creative blind spots in all of filmmaking, or it was made because in this, the year 2019, there are still people who believe that eroticized, lightened-up rape scenes are not only permissable – they are empowering.

The Perfection is an odd duck. It's a very well made horror movie with some ambitious themes, but it doesn't make a lick of sense. It falls into the trap of wanting to constantly surprise the audience regardless of whether or not its twists add up. Still, there are some really good performances -- and one great sequence on a bus trip -- that make this at least an interestingly unique watch.

Nothing has me laughing harder than the comments talking about how this is a "masterpiece" because it makes you feel uncomfortable, disturbed, emotional pain and that it reflects the "difficulties women go through."
I saw a video posted on the web of mexican cartel members cutting the guts out of a rival gang member while he is alive and screaming. I felt uncomfortable, disturbed, enraged, and pain, was that video a masterpiece?
There were many other issues with the movie, particularly in how unbelievable it was, and other technicals like pacing and camera shots. I won't even bother getting into how ridiculous the plot was and wildly divergent actions in the first half of the movie and the latter revealed motivations. Those issues were minor compared to problem with the message of the movie.
I empathize with everyone who lived vicariously through the film and saw it as feeling vindicated or felt some sense of justice. But recognize what you are enjoying and promoting, perfectly encapsulated in the final shot-- the sadistic enjoyment from the subjugation and torture of others. And if that is justice to you, then who is left that isn't a depraved criminal?
