I think it is a good blend between comedy and Horror.The cast really did well,mainly Ed Oxenbould was amazing in this movie.As the movie is a blend don't look at it as either comedy or Horror.

Welcome back, M Night Shyamalan! It's been almost 15 years since your last great film. Many crowned you as the next Hitchcock and you let that into your head. The result: almost a decade of crap fest, culminating with the abysmal After Earth. Enter Jason Blum, low budget producerWelcome back, M Night Shyamalan! The result: almost a decade of crap fest, culminating with the abysmal After Earth. Enter Jason Blum, low budget producer extraordinaire, and a lot of your own money, and voila! A great film, well acted, scary as hell but comedic in parts. All the casts were great and again, like the Sixth Sense, a heartfelt message at the end. Normally I hear about M. Night Shyamalan being a very predictable, awful director. Sure, maybe he's made a few bad movies before. The Visit in my opinion is a solid horror movie. Not the best, not the worst, but worth a see definitely. Maybe I'm being a little biased because it plays to myNormally I hear about M. Night Shyamalan being a very predictable, awful director. Maybe I'm being a little biased because it plays to my fears of creepy old people. The actors do a fairly well job, even the kids. Except the boy rapping, I found it cringeworthy at best. Sound is a key part in this movie that make it especially creepy. This movie has those pesky jumpscares so prepare to **** your breeches and laugh about it afterwards while having a mini heart attack. Overall, it's a horrible movie worthy of a watch even if you're a horror movie elitist.… Expand

"The Visit" may be similar to Shyamalan's past few misfires in that it's comically over-the-top and filled with hilarious camp. This time, however, it feels a whole lot more like Shyamalan's in on the joke with us.

M. Night Shyalaman has created a horror comedy that is much better as the latter than the former. The films comedic aspects work pretty well led by young Ed Oxenbould who was the star of the film in my view he was hilarious. The most uneven part of the film is the horror part I just wasn'tM. I was super psyched for this movie because the story sounded great. The entire movie I was very entertained and even a little scared. The jumpscares were predictable but still startled me. But, and a BIG but, the ending was soooo bad!!!! Why would you even think of ending a horror movie in aI was super psyched for this movie because the story sounded great. superficial, boring, vacuous, pointless, with essentially zero entertainment value. that whole pseudo documentary, hand held shaky camera thing, a la blair witch is played out & tired. if this is the best you can do - seek professional help: hire some people to write a story with an actual plot!
